Our Executive chef and his kitchen team have taken the fantastic Kangaroo Island produce and created a menu that has something for everyone. Our winter menu for 2010 focuses on the wide range of local product in season, with dishes such as Kangaroo Island Whiting & Kangaroo Island Marron 3 ways.

Our causal dining area is the perfect place to spend a quick bite to eat before heading to see the Penguin parade, enjoying favourites including:battered Prawns, lemon myrtle bush pepper Squid and KI Haloumi & zucchini fritters.

Rounding out the Sorrento's experience is the one-of-a-kind service brought to you by our Maitre D', Richard Purvis and his unique charm. Offering a full selection of award winning wines from Kangaroo Island, as well as small parcels of cellar stock from the mainland Australia, Richard will guide you to the perfect choice for your meal or discerning palate.

Cellar Door for False Cape Wines

The False Cape vineyard was established in 1999 by the Follett family of Langhorne Creek, who have had a long association with Kangaroo Island. The Folletts began grape growing in Langhorne Creek in the 1880's and more recently established the award winning Lake Breeze winery. They have embarked upon a journey to produce some of the best quality and value wines on the island. The False Cape vineyard is located four kilometres inland from the rugged south coast between Penneshaw and Cape Willoughby and was selected specifically for its terra rossa soil and cool maritime conditions. The wines produced here exhibit excellent varietal characters and intense colour, and with carefully cellaring will age well.

The False Cape range of wines, including our gold medal winning Sauvignon Blanc and trophy winning Cabernet, are available for tasting and purchasing at Sorrento's Restaurant at the Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort, overlooking the ocean at Penneshaw.
